Expectations

We believe that a Pratt Music Scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for a student to learn to play an instrument. With that opportunity comes a variety of responsibilities for the student.

The Pratt Music Foundation has the following expectations for its scholarship recipients. Each

student’s continued eligibility is dependent on meeting all expectations.

Attendance. Each student is expected to attend lessons regularly, and to

be on time, and to notify your teacher if a lesson must be missed.

Practice. Each student is expected to practice regularly, and to be wellprepared

for each lesson.

Musical Achievement. Each student will be reviewed throughout the

school year, and is expected to demonstrate progress throughout the year,

participating in selected recitals.

Appreciation. Each student is expected to write a thank you note to the

Pratt Music Foundation upon notification of scholarship award.

Reception. Each student is expected to attend the annual student

recognition reception (typically held in late January or February).

Summer Lessons. Each student is expected to participate in the summer

lesson program.
